Mike,

Under the settings app you can adjust the minimum accuracy that Here I Am waits for before opening the mail app.

I have just downloaded the Here I am App.Sent my office location to someone and it was the wrong address. So I went to a lunchbar and sent that location and it was wrong. Both locations were about a street or two out.Is it worth keeping this App.Regards
Mike

I really would like to see a text message option. It pinpoints your location, then asks you email or text message.

Text messages still can link, and google maps works on much more than just an iphone.

that would be an excellent improvement, or separate application if necessary.

Gareth,
I was in Quito. Standing outside with clear shot of the sky. I could not get any gps location to display. Does the iPhone require cell service of some kind to get gps location?

Scott,

GPS should work by itself. It is possible you were in an area with poor GPS coverage. Really hard to tell what would cause it.

I was in Ecuador and had no cell service. Here I Am would not find and GPS signals. Is there a way to get the GPS to work alone.

Andrea,

I can replicate that on my iPhone. It looks to me like a bug in the maps application. I’ll file a bug report with Apple.

Gareth,

I tried out the application and it given me this link:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=51.903397,-8.511696

wich is fairly accurate, when you open the map on my computer.

However, if I open the same link on the iphone itself, it place me somewhere in the sea west of Africa…

Any though?

Hi Dean,

Sorry to hear you are having problems. I’ll contact you directly via email as there are a few different things that could be causing your problem.

I have the same problem as Batman357. No email is sent any more. He was lucky though. He was able to delete the app and reset the phone and mail worked again. My email will still not send. Any ideas?

Bundy,

The current version in the App Store does have the settings screen.

It’s not inside the App itself but in the iPhone’s main settings screen.

Gabirele, just a thought for the future. Don’t give the store the latest app to push until you have your updates solidly in place. Having read and downloaded the app, I was about to delete it….only because it said there was a settings screen and I couldn’t get to it. And you’re right, Apple can be annoying with this…….

Simon,

The settings/Accuracy screen is part of version 1.1 which has not yet been approved by Apple for distribution. So you’re not going crazy or missing anything obvious.

It looks like they have pushed the new screen shots out though, which is annoying.

As soon as the update goes live you will be able to adjust the accuracy, until then Here I Am will simply give you the quickest results that it can.

Great little app, Gareth. This is going to be very useful to me. Thank you.

One question though… I can’t find that Settings/Accuracy screen that you show in the store screenshots anywhere. There is nothing within the application itself, and there is no “Here I Am” screen in the main Settings.

Maybe I’m missing something very obvious?!
